Meet Ian

I have spent more than 25 years working with children, young people and families, and I have been practising as a Play Therapist since 2011. My approach is child-centred, relational and grounded in the belief that children need a safe and accepting space where they can express themselves in their own way and at their own pace.

Alongside my work with children and families, I am a Senior Certified Clinical Supervisor, supporting trainee and qualified Play Therapists to reflect on their practice and develop confidence in their professional identity. I also work closely with schools, parents and other professionals to help create consistent support around the child.

The Spiral Tree brings these areas of my work together, with relationships, creativity and the individual needs of each child at its heart.
